Hi, I’m Lisa

I’m a qualified social media consultant and the founder of Social Elements. What you don’t get with most social media professionals, though, is over twenty years of post-graduate experience in research, drug development and the pharmaceutical industry!

My scientific background

Before I started Social Elements, I worked for twelve years in drug and diagnostic development for AstraZeneca and Roche. Prior to my career in the pharmaceutical industry, I’d worked in scientific research, having earned an MSc in Medical Microbiology.

At AstraZeneca and Roche, I worked across the project, clinical and diagnostic aspects of drug development for several types of indications, most notably oncology. At Roche, I also headed project teams to ensure that our biomarker strategy was operationally delivered across clinical trials.

My social media training

As my children got older, I found that I craved more flexibility to work around family life. I retrained to become a qualified social media consultant, as well as a Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram advertising strategist. I gained practical experience working with a whole range of different businesses and community campaigns.

Bringing the elements together

These days, I’ve shifted my focus to specialise in working with businesses in the life science and healthcare space that I love so much! I use my industry knowledge and insight to bring social media to this sector, combining both sides of my expertise to help you get results.

Outside of my working day, I still have a fascination for all things science, but also love running, practising yoga and baking. I live in Hertfordshire with my husband, our twins and our Goldendoodle, Olive.

Meet the team

One thing I love about running a social media agency is how flexible it can be. Bringing in expert consultants not only means we can vary our capacity, it also means an extra set of eyes on things, a different point of view, and complementary skills and expertise. As well as the three social media specialists below, we also have close ties to a collective of healthcare communications professionals, called The Difference Collective, for those times when your needs extend beyond social media. Carly Hayes

Carly Hayes​

a scientific writer and social media manager, works with our science-based clients. She has a PhD in Genetics, over 10 years’ experience in life sciences and medical research (both in the lab and in scientific communication), and a diploma in Strategic Social Media Marketing. She works on social media management and written content. Carly lives with her husband and two children in East London.

Sarah Forde

Sarah Forde

is a virtual assistant with specialist skills in digital marketing and social media. She works with female business owners who want to increase productivity and grow their business. From general admin to digital marketing, social media and specific project work, she supports Lisa across the business. Sarah lives in Hampshire with her husband and four children. She loves travel, podcasts, binge watching box sets and weekend hiking.

Kate Baker

Kate Baker

is a social media manager and content creator. She’s experienced in creating strategies, setting up and running social media profiles and campaigns, and writing blog posts and newsletter articles. She’s worked across sectors from financial services to high-end fashion, interiors and e-commerce, making her a great fit for a whole range of clients! Kate lives in Devon with her two children, cat Howard and spaniel Betty.
